Dr. W.T. Griggs Elementary School
Griggs Elementary School is located in Poplar Branch, NC, and is home to approximately 265 students in grades Kindergarten through fifth grade.
Our students performed well on the NC End-of-Grade Tests with 90.2% of the students achieving proficiency in Mathematics, 82.7% in Reading Comprehension and 94.3% in Fifth Grade Science.
Griggs Elementary School was among six Title I school across the state of North Carolina who was recognized this year for our Sustained Student Achievement. For the past three years, our students have demonstrated growth each year as measured on the End-of-Grade test in the areas of Reading, Mathematics, and Science.
Parents are very involved in their children's education and volunteers are welcomed at our school. A Parent Resource Center was opened lastyear and provides access to computers and reading materials.
